According to data provided by PFSN NFL Draft HQ, Pavia had a prospect score of 64.9. In looking at his potential as a draft pick, the PFSN NFL Draft analysis offered some insights. Among the quarterbacks available in the 2026 NFL Draft, PFSN placed Pavia in the No. 13 position.

“Diego Pavia was one of the stars of the 2025 college football season,” PFSN’s scouting report on Pavia noted. “He began his collegiate career at New Mexico Military Institute after being overlooked as a high school recruit, and leveraged a dominant second season at NMMI into an opportunity with the New Mexico State Aggies.

“With the Aggies, Pavia distinguished himself as a dynamic two-phase playmaker, and eventually ascended to the SEC as Vanderbilt’s field general,” the analysis continued. “In 2025, Pavia was a Heisman finalist, and earned the top PFSN QB Impact score in the nation, with a grade of 94.8.”

“His processing isn’t quite NFL-caliber, nor is his arm strength, and even his athleticism might not be as prevalent against NFL talent,” the scouting report noted. “Pavia has the desired mobility, toughness, and quick-game utility to function as an NFL backup, but his ceiling is likely capped beyond that.”

Along with all of the analysis regarding Pavia, he’s not made himself a warm-and-fuzzy type of player. He’s been quite polarizing throughout his playing career, too. In addition, some concerns have surrounded Pavia’s game and his fit in the NFL, as he is 5-foot-10 and 207 pounds.

Pavia, who in a conversation with Gruden before the draft tried to shut down the concerns about his height, unfortunately, the NFL teams were still not sold on him.
