Maxx Crosby remains a member of the Las Vegas Raiders after the deal with the Baltimore Ravens fell through. The EDGE seems to have repaired his relationship with the franchise, but the Raiders will be entering a new era, and while a trade now looks unlikely, we could still see the defender playing for a different team in 2026.
Stephen Jones Avoids Direct Answer on Maxx Crosby As NFL Draft Approaches
One possibility remains the Dallas Cowboys, which reportedly made multiple offers to the Raiders for Crosby before Las Vegas reached a framework with the Ravens. Crosby is available once again, but his price has dropped after the failed trade, with his knee injury still in rehab.
Minutes after news of the failed deal went public, NFL insider Dianna Russini reported that Dallas was unlikely to return to the negotiating table. “The Dallas Cowboys are not expected to re-engage in Maxx Crosby trade discussions at this time, a high-ranking source tells The Athletic”, Russini said on March 10.
However, that didn’t stop fans and analysts from wondering whether the Cowboys could make a renewed offer for the EDGE. On Monday, with the NFL Annual League Meeting happening in Arizona, reporters asked Cowboys’ COO Stephen Jones about making a run at Maxx Crosby. And he was non-committal in his answer:
“The makeup of our football team is constantly evolving. We look at a lot of different situations, some that never hit the media. And you are aware of some situations. We’re always looking to make our football team better. If we can find that situation, we’ll do it. We really like our football team,” Stephen said.
The Cowboys did acquire an EDGE defender at the start of free agency. Dallas made a deal with the Green Bay Packers, sending a 2027 fourth-round pick for Rashan Gary, who had 24 sacks over the past three seasons. They also sent Osa Odighizuwa to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2026 third-round pick.
Crosby suffered a serious knee injury in October 2025, and he missed the final two games of the year as the Raiders looked to secure the first overall pick with multiple losses.

Although the mission was complete, the relationship between the player and the team was fractured.
PFSN’s NFL EDGE Impact Metric is bullish on Crosby. Last season, he was ranked No. 2 at the position with an impressive grade of 95.3. Whichever team holds his services in 2026 will have a great player on their hands.
