The Stefon Diggs sexual assault case has been a perplexing one to monitor. Fresh off a spectacular year with the New England Patriots, the veteran wide receiver has dealt with a rough summer throughout 2026.
Between the organization releasing him to essentially make room for A.J. Brown, or the assault case against him, he has had a rough go at it. However, the accuser now has some startling claims against the four-time Pro Bowler.
Bizarre Accusations Levied Against Stefon Diggs
The current legal battle began when Diggs filed a defamation lawsuit against Chris Griffith, a social media influencer, prompting a severe countersuit. The content creator had levied some grievous accusations against Diggs stemming from an encounter between them in 2023.
Taking place near the former Minnesota Vikings’ star’s home in Rockville, Maryland, Griffith made accusations against Diggs, which included claiming Diggs had allegedly given “him a candy that was laced with a drug without his knowledge” before sexually assaulting him.
Additionally, he also alleged that the former All-Pro had a hand in a physical attack on him in an attempt to quieten him down. At the time, Diggs filed a lawsuit for libel, alleging that his reputation and image were being damaged.
However, Griffith fought the defamation claims in court. Instead of backing down, he soldiered on with the situation and put forward a counter lawsuit for sexual assault. So far, the two sides haven’t found common ground, as their stories continue to differ.

The first major difference between them came from travel documents. While Diggs’ representatives had asked for the details, Griffith and his team claimed that the entire arrangement was made by Diggs himself.
Moreover, Griffith’s lawyer, according to TMZ, directly claimed, “[t]o the extent travel arrangements, confirmations or related documents exist, they are at least equally within [Stefon’s] possession, custody or control.”
But the court case has allowed Griffith to share his side of the story. Breaking down the evening’s events in question, the influencer accused Diggs of giving him a drug-induced candy before forcing him into various sexual acts.

Going a step further, he also alleged that Diggs had taken help from his brother, Darez, to attack him physically, in an attempt to suppress his side of the story. However, the former Buffalo Bills star has maintained his innocence in the entire matter.
Describing it as an incredibly mundane evening, Diggs claimed that the two, alongside other influencers, had gone to a club after a charity basketball game in Washington, D.C. From there, the group returned to Diggs’ home, where he retired to his bedroom.
According to TMZ, Diggs’ lawyer said, “[Chris] engaged in extreme and outrageous conduct by knowingly publishing false statements accusing Plaintiff of violence, sexual assault, drugging people, and serious crimes.”
Soon after, Diggs asked Griffith to leave, and that was the end of the night, by his account. So far, there has been no forward traction between the two sides or the court case, as it continues through the summer. But the social media star has already made a settlement on his $10 million lawsuit against Diggs’ brother.
