Stefon Diggs has a new home and a new fantasy football outlook we must research. This offseason, he was traded to the Houston Texans and now enters a crowded wide receiver room attached to an up-and-coming superstar quarterback in C.J. Stroud.
Diggs is a talented wide receiver, but he has also reached age 30, which is the proverbial WR cliff where talents tend to dwindle and disappear to the cruel fate of Father Time.
Can we get another WR1 season from Diggs at his average draft position (ADP) of No. 42 overall? Let’s break down Diggs’ fantasy outlook for the 2024 season.
Stefon Diggs Fantasy Profile for the 2024 Season
Although Diggs saw the sixth-most targets, it felt like a tale of two seasons for the veteran wideout.
In the first nine weeks, Diggs was the top targeted wide receiver overall (97 targets), according to TruMedia. Diggs also produced the third-highest amount of receiving yards, the 19th-most yards after catch (YAC), and the second-most touchdowns in that time frame in the NFL with seven scores.
At that point, fantasy football fanatics rejoiced, thinking they were going to dominate through the season.
But Diggs became a nuisance to fantasy lineups from Week 10 and on, averaging 42 receiving yards per game and barely cracking seven points a week in fantasy scoring. He has a new landing spot, and we have concerns about this new home.
Diggs enters a wide receiver room where Nico Collins and Tank Dell have already succeeded before his arrival. It might be hard for a veteran to come in and overtake a young player who is producing and already knows the offense.
Fantasy managers also need to consider the depth behind Diggs, which is talented in its own right. While players like Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie will not challenge for significant playing time, they’ll be in the rotation.
This talent pool surrounding Diggs hampers the upside we can see within his fantasy outlook and makes us question whether we want to draft him at his ADP.
Is Diggs a Good Fantasy Pick?
All signs point to a downward trend for the aging veteran, which is why he is listed as WR27 on Pro Football Network’s Consensus Fantasy Football Rankings. His No. 42 overall ADP also makes me wary.
At that point in the draft, we could pivot to players such as Kenneth Walker, his quarterback C.J. Stroud, and even Devonta Smith, who all have later ARPs than the aging veteran.

Another issue surrounding Diggs is his bye week.
He lands right in the middle of the Bye-pocalypse, which happens in Week 14. Losing an early-round player in one of the most crucial weeks of fantasy football is a bad draft strategy to build around for your fantasy hopes and dreams.
Although we can look fondly upon the past with Diggs, don’t let graduation goggles ruin your chance of a bright future.
