A.J. Brown’s departure did not come quietly, nor by surprise, especially after an increasingly messy exit from the Philadelphia Eagles.
With Brown now set to start a new journey with the New England Patriots, some Philly fans are still not moving on, but former Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho has had enough of Philly targeting Brown.
Emmanuel Acho Wants Eagles Fans to Ignore A.J. Brown’s Patriots Training Camp
Brown put together an incredible run during his four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, recording four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. Though his numbers gradually declined, he helped the Eagles reach the playoffs four straight times and capture three NFC East titles before joining the Patriots, where he is now adjusting to head coach Mike Vrabel’s system.
Brown’s start to Patriots training camp has been under the microscope, as he was targeted once without making a catch, with Christian Gonzalez forcing him to look over his shoulder.
Brown also revealed that Vrabel publicly criticized him in front of the team after he failed to haul in a pass during the first practice.
Of course, Eagles fans have been closely following Brown’s early camp performances and celebrating Philadelphia’s return from the trade, which includes New England’s 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round selection.
However, Acho believes Eagles supporters should stop dwelling on their former star receiver.

“Eagles fans, I’m begging you to stop stalking your ex,” Acho said on his “Speakeasy” podcast on Monday. “Stop stalking A.J. Brown. Mute his Instagram stories, block him if you have to.
“A.J. Brown is running on his back shoulder. And you want him to separate on Christian Gonzalez getting pressed. How are you going to separate on that? Like they’re throwing her back shoulder. What (do) you want? What (do) you want him to do? You’re stalking your ex, seeing that he’s in a new relationship.”

With Brown gone, DeVonta Smith is expected to step into the No. 1 receiver role. Smith already owns the franchise record for postseason receiving yards with 665 and now leads a revamped receiving corps after Philadelphia signed Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore to one-year contracts.
The Eagles also acquired route specialist Dontayvion Wicks this offseason and selected Biletnikoff Award winner Makai Lemon with the 20th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Given those additions, Acho believes Eagles fans have plenty of reasons for optimism.

“Look forward to what you got. Makai Lemon, Hollywood Brown, Wicks,” Acho said. “Stop worrying about what AJ Brown (is) out there doing. I am not at all concerned with A.J. Brown after one day of camp. And I also don’t like saying AJ Brown still can’t separate.
“Stop stalking your ex. You got a great thing going with Makai. You got a great thing going with Jalen Hurts. He’s been all smiles all offseason. Let A.J.Brown go do his thing.”
Brown and Smith formed one of the NFL’s most dangerous wide receiver duos during their time together, blending Brown’s physical dominance with Smith’s polished route running and playmaking ability.
Replacing that chemistry will not be easy, but the Eagles have assembled several good options in hopes of creating another explosive receiving group.
