South Dakota State quarterback Chris Oladokun is on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ radar. As the Steelers evaluate the draft prospects, including visits and meetings with Liberty QB Malik Willis, Cincinnati QB Desmond Ridder, North Carolina QB Sam Howell, Pitt QB Kenny Pickett, Mississippi QB Matt Corral, and Nevada QB Carson Strong, that’s not the full extent of their NFL Draft homework.

Chris Oladokun visits Steelers, will work out for Buccaneers, and more

Oladokun visited the Steelers this week and previously visited the Chicago Bears, according to a league source. He has also worked out for the Arizona Cardinals and has a private workout Thursday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, per a league source.

The Steelers have previously met with Oladokun. Josh Dobbs is a free agent, and Oladokun is a potential strong depth addition with upside should he wind up there.

Oladokun passed for 3,164 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. He rushed for 166 yards and also caught 2 touchdown passes.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Tampa, Florida native led the Jackrabbits to an 11-4 record, including a victory over Colorado State and a win over North Dakota State. South Dakota State won three playoff games before losing to Montana State in the semifinals.

A transfer from South Florida and Samford, Oladokun passed for 2,064 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2019 and rushed for 493 yards and 8 scores. He tied a school record with 6 touchdown passes and 1 touchdown run in a 2018 game at Tennessee Tech.

He was selected to play in the Blue-Grey Football All-American Bowl as a prep senior at Tampa. As a senior, he passed for 1,390 yards, 15 TDs, and had 3 INTs. He had 57 career touchdown passes in high school.
