USMNT Great Tips Weston McKennie for Premier League Switch, Says He Improves ‘Any Team’

Former USMNT star makes bold claim about Weston McKennie as contract talks stall at Juventus amid interest from the Premier League.

Juventus star Weston McKennie has seen his contract talks at the Italian club stall. He has been linked with an exit this summer, and now former USMNT star Tab Ramos has made a bold comment on the American midfielder.

Weston McKennie Backed To Make Premier League Return

McKennie played for Leeds United in the Premier League on loan before returning to Juventus and becoming a key part of the squad. The American has now shown that his versatility is the Italian club’s secret weapon, as he has played in defense, midfield, and attack, leading the side as a striker when needed.

The 27-year-old has entered his final six months of contract with the Old Lady and is free to hold talks with any club in the world. He has been linked with a move back to the Premier League, and Ramos believes it would not be a bad thing for the USMNT star.

Speaking to GOAL, the former midfielder claimed that McKennie has developed in his spell at Juventus and shown the world that he has all the talent to succeed at any club. He stated that he can make a difference on the pitch and said:

“I have to tell you, Weston McKennie is a player that can play anywhere – in any position on the field. Look at what he has done for Juve the last couple of months, they have had him everywhere – from right-back to centre mid, attacking mid. He always ends up in the box and is always dangerous. He has always made a difference. To be fair, Juventus’ recovery is partly on the shoulders of Weston McKennie, he has been that good for them.”

When asked if a move to the Premier League should be McKennie’s next step, Ramos added:

“Would I like to see him go to the EPL? Juventus is another one of those clubs – you are talking about a great club all over the world. I really think that Weston McKennie can make any team better. I would personally like to see him back in the EPL playing for a club that is fighting for titles.”

Aston Villa has been linked with a surprise move for the USMNT star, while Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan have also been keeping tabs on the midfielder. Bayer Leverkusen is also said to be interested in signing the former Schalke 04 star, but all face tough competition from Juventus, who are pushing to renew his contract.
