Weston McKennie has made a significant decision about his future at Juventus, committing to the club despite interest from other European teams.
McKennie has emerged as a key player for Juventus, delivering one of his most consistent and productive seasons. After missing much of 2025 due to injury and inconsistency, he has returned to top form. He is now considered indispensable for the USMNT as the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaches.

The 27-year-old has played in all but one match across competitions, underscoring his reliability. In 38 appearances, he has recorded 8 goals and 7 assists, reflecting his growing influence in attack.
McKennie has signed a new contract with Juventus, extending his stay until 2030. His previous deal was set to expire in June 2026, which would have allowed him to negotiate with overseas clubs beginning in January.

Juventus acted quickly to secure his future. Despite interest from other European teams, McKennie consistently expressed his desire to remain with the club.
In December, McKennie made clear that his preference was to stay with the 36-time Serie A champions. “Turin is a big part of my life, so I want to do everything I can for the people here,” he said. When asked directly about contract negotiations, the midfielder added: “I’ll leave that to my agent. He talks to me, but I hope to stay here.”
McKennie’s resurgence follows a challenging 2022-23 season, during which he spent the second half on loan at Leeds United to gain regular playing time. Since returning, he has re-established himself as a central figure in Juventus’s midfield.
His consistency has been evident in European competition, where he started all 10 of Juventus’ Champions League fixtures. In a demanding campaign that included a managerial change, McKennie remained a constant presence. He was a regular under Igor Tudor before the Croatian was dismissed in October and has continued to play a key role under his successor, Luciano Spalletti.
McKennie’s versatility is a major asset. While primarily a central midfielder, he has performed effectively in multiple roles, including on the right flank and in advanced positions.
By extending his contract until 2030, Juventus secures a vital player and reinforces its long-term strategy. For McKennie, the new deal provides stability and acknowledges his importance as he enters his prime.
