Wrexham is on a stunning run, creating history by earning back-to-back-to-back promotion. They are now fighting to make it to the Premier League next season, and one pundit has backed them to get to the promised land this summer.
Wrexham Back To Make Premier League Dream Come True This Season
Wrexham is sitting sixth in the EFL Championship table, and that is the final playoff spot for the third promotion team to the Premier League. They have 47 points from their 30 matches so far, and are currently 11 points off the automatic promotion spots.
However, their main focus will not be on securing the top two spots, but on staying in the top six until the very end. With 16 matches left in the season, things can change swiftly, especially as the three clubs right below them in the table are just a win away from pushing Wrexham outside the top six if they slip up.
Former Wales international Rob Earnshaw is backing the Wrexham side to go all the way and make it to the Premier League next season. He claimed that co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are turning a Hollywood story into a reality for the club and told GOAL:
“Wrexham has been a wonderful story. A lot of people say ‘Hollywood FC’ – it is Hollywood FC, but with great credit. I had a conversation with Ryan Reynolds in the first few games of the season and it showed me the real humble way that they are doing it, the real genuine way. They are also a team that have had such a unique story – these Hollywood owners have come in and taken the club quite literally from the bottom.”

McElhenney added, “It’s a fairytale, but turned into reality. I think it’s amazing. It’s brilliant. Of course, being a Cardiff man, there is a rivalry there, but I have the utmost respect for Wrexham. I think it’s amazing. I love what they are doing, and continue to see what they are doing. I think it’s brilliant, and I hope they do reach the Premier League. I think they can.”
Earnshaw has warned them that the Premier League is a different level, and they will need to improve the squad. He believes that they will need better players to have any chance of staying up, and every match will be a big game.
