Real Madrid Transfer Rumors: Los Blancos To Reject Any Offer Under $117M For Midfielder

Premier League sides are keen on signing a Real Madrid star, but they will have to pay hefty fees for any chance.

Real Madrid has a wealth of talent in its squad, and when one player is not getting enough minutes, other clubs tend to take notice. Every player has a price, but Los Blancos are unwilling to let anyone leave on the cheap.

Premier League Clubs Interested in Real Madrid Star

Arda Güler’s minutes on the pitch for Real Madrid have dropped in recent weeks, and Premier League clubs are ready to pounce on any opportunity. Defensa Central reported that the two sides were willing to make offers for the Turkish star but were quickly shut down by Los Blancos.

Arsenal and Manchester City were reportedly open to offering up to $76 million for the attacking midfielder but were told that no offers under $117 million would be considered.

Mikel Arteta’s side sees him as an ideal replacement for Martin Ødegaard, whom they also signed from Madrid. The Gunners have Ethan Nwaneri and Eberechi Eze, but viewed the Turkish star as a superior option.

Pep Guardiola has been searching for a Kevin De Bruyne replacement and has yet to identify the ideal player. While Ryan Cherki has impressed, the Cityzens are also looking for long-term replacements for Bernardo Silva and saw Güler as a perfect fit.

However, Xabi Alonso is unlikely to sanction any move, as he heaped praise on the 20-year-old in December. He said:

“He has the ability to have different heights, as well as different influences, depending on what the team needs. He has very good feet, he knows how to organise the game and at the same time, when you are already in the final third, give the decisive pass. Even arriving a little in the second line, in the goal against Valencia, he made a break and crossed to Kylian. And it depends on what we have around us, it can be adapted.

“That quality gives us flexibility in our approaches. But Arda is growing a lot and we have, I think I said it at the Club World Cup, to invest a lot in him. Because he is a special, different player. We need to demand from him, but also understand the different phases he has. Support him and push him a lot so that he continues to perform at the level he is doing. And that there is still room for improvement, without a doubt.”

Güler has scored three goals and added five assists in 18 La Liga appearances this season. However, the 20-year-old could be fighting for his place at the club next season, as reports suggest Nico Paz could return from Como.
