Real Madrid are in danger of missing out on the La Liga title for the second straight year, as Barcelona are currently leading the standings by four points. As a result, they are expected to bolster their squad even more this summer, with Rodri reportedly a target.
Now, Los Merengues have allegedly learnt about the Manchester City star’s asking price.
Real Madrid Learn Manchester City Star Rodri’s Price Tag
According to reporter Ramon Alvarez de Mon, Real Madrid has identified Rodri as its top transfer target ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. They are likely to monitor the Spaniard’s fitness at the club level and at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
However, the 2024 Ballon d’Or award winner is unlikely to be an easy target for the La Liga team. He has been slapped with a $59 million price tag by Manchester City, with the Pep Guardiola-coached outfit open to offers before the end of his deal in June 2027.

Should Rodri secure a permanent switch to Real Madrid from Manchester City this summer, he would emerge as a starter for Los Blancos. He would fill the void left by Toni Kroos, and also help the likes of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni in midfield.
However, the 29-year-old has struggled to replicate his Ballon d’Or-winning form in the last 18 months. After bouncing back from an anterior cruciate ligament injury last May, the star has scored just once in 23 total games for the Cityzens so far this campaign.
Meanwhile, the former Atlético Madrid and Villarreal holding midfielder is likely to face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 clashes on Mar. 11 and Mar. 17.
Los Blancos icon Emilio Butragueño has backed his former side to defeat Manchester City in the Champions League. He told club media, “We will face a top quality opponent but we are aware of the capabilities of our players… and the excitement the Champions League always brings us. We have full confidence in the talent and experience of our players.”

“We’ve been drawn against a top-level opponent. We have some important players who are currently injured. We hope they recover and can be available for this tie. We are confident that the team will rise to face an opponent of this caliber,” Butragueño added.
Should Los Merengues beat the Premier League club on aggregate next month, they would either face Bayern Munich or Atalanta next in the Champions League knockouts.
