Patrice Evra Makes Hilarious Demand to Arsenal Fans After Manchester United Beat Man City in Derby

Manchester United legend sends message to Arsenal fans after his former side beat Manchester City in the Premier League.

Manchester United’s win over Manchester City has given them a massive boost for the rest of the season. However, the biggest winners from the game week were Arsenal, who extended their lead at the top of the table.

Manchester United Legend Wants Arsenal Fans To Thank Him

Manchester United were given no chance against their derby rivals today, January 17, but they stunned the fans worldwide with a 2-0 win. The Red Devils dominated the whole game and walked away with all three points.

The legend of the club was also celebrating the big morale-boosting win under new manager Michael Carrick. Patrice Evra was among those who reacted on X (formerly Twitter) and took a moment to send a message to Arsenal fans as well.

The former France international wants the Gunners to thank him for beating Manchester City and posted:

“Well done everyone @ManUtd happy for you @carras16 Perfect attitude please dont let down your new manager Ps: waiting for the thanks my arsenal fans 😅🥰 #ilovethisgame #positive4evra #family.”

Evra’s comment comes after he mocked the Gunners in 2024, branding them a ‘Netflix team’. He claimed that they were always waiting for the next season and said, “Watching Arsenal is like watching Netflix. You always have to wait for the next season! Trust me, every season is going to be like that so don’t even get involved.”

The former defender backed them to do well this season, saying that his brain believes they would do better than Manchester United, but his heart disagreed.

“They’re still my Netflix team – drama, action, romance, even horror,” Evra said. “But I want a happy ending, not another beautiful loss. My heart says United will have a better season than Arsenal, but my brain says wait and see. Potential means nothing if you don’t turn it into points.”

However, Arsenal failed to capitalize on the opportunity and slipped up against Nottingham Forest. The Gunners were held to a goalless draw at the City Ground, but still managed to extend the lead by a point.

Aston Villa now has the chance to close the gap from seven points to four if it beats Everton on Sunday, January 18.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are trophyless in their last five seasons, but have finished second in the previous three. They have been at the top of the table since the start and are hoping to end the season with the trophy.
