Liverpool suffered their eighth Premier League defeat of the 2025-26 campaign during their recent home clash against Manchester City. And, English actor Owen Cooper has vented his frustration about his favorite side’s loss in a rather peculiar manner.
Liverpool Fan Loses Cool After Loss to Manchester City
Earlier on Sunday, Feb. 8, Liverpool faced Manchester City at Anfield, aiming to close the gap on fourth-placed Manchester United. Dominik Szoboszlai opened the scoring with a blistering free-kick effort in the 74th minute of the contest.
However, the Reds failed to maintain momentum in the final 15 minutes of the match, with Bernardo Silva restoring parity for the visitors in the 84th minute. Nine minutes later, Erling Haaland scored the dramatic winner from the penalty spot.
After the end of the thrilling Premier League encounte, Golden Globe-winning Cooper took to Instagram and posted a story referencing Sunday’s contest. The 16-year-old actor urged Fulham, the Cityzens’ next opponents, to injure both Haaland and Silva.
“Fulham… make sure (Erling Haaland) and (Bernardo Silva) never ever see a football pitch ever again,” Cooper, who shot to fame for his role in ‘Adolescence’, wrote.
During Manchester City’s recent 2-1 win, Haaland relished an excellent outing, scoring once and providing one assist. He netted his 21st Premier League goal of the season against the Reds, extending his lead in the race for the Golden Boot award.
Silva, on the other hand, produced a captain’s performance for Pep Guardiola’s side against the Arne Slot-coached outfit. The 31-year-old midfielder completed 48 of his 56 passes and created two chances, playing in a No. 10 role on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Manchester United legend Roy Keane has slammed Manchester City for playing loud music in their dressing room during Reds boss Slot’s post-match interview.
“Listen, it will be interesting to see if the music is on when Pep does his interview. City are entitled to enjoy themselves, but show a bit of respect. Turn the music down when people are doing press interviews. It’s ridiculous,” Keane said on Sky Sports.
Later on, Keane lauded the Cityzens for their determined away performance at Liverpool.
“Huge result. Big lift for City. Their record here is not great. Pep said before the game when you come to Anfield, you need to show personality and character, and this City team showed it. Particularly in the second half. It’s more than three points. Psychologically, it’s a big lift and a bit of a hammer blow for Arsenal,” the Irishman continued.
Guardiola’s side are second in the Premier League table with 50 points from 25 games. On the other hand, Liverpool are sixth with 39 points from 25 league outings.
