Neymar Set To Stay at Santos
Neymar has reportedly decided to stay at Santos for another season after joining them in January last year. He played a key role in the club avoiding relegation, scoring a hat-trick against Juventude in the penultimate game of the league season.
According to a report in Globo Esporte, the 33-year-old has a deal in place to remain at the Brazilian club until the end of the 2026 season as he continues his recovery from knee surgery. He had initially joined on a six-month deal, before extending his contract until the end of the season as Santos were still struggling in the relegation battle.
However, he got injured during the tail end of the season, but still played on as he wanted to keep them in the top flight. The former Barcelona star scored
He wants to make the FIFA World Cup squad in the summer but has not featured under the new manager, Carlo Ancelotti. The Brazil national team manager spoke about the forward’s chances and said:
“We talk about Neymar, we have to talk about other players. We have to think about Brazil, which can be with Neymar or without Neymar, with other players or without other players. The definitive list we will make after the FIFA date in March.”
“I understand very well that people are very interested in Neymar. I want to clarify that we are in December, the World Cup is in June, I will choose the team that will go to the World Cup in May. If Neymar deserves to be, if he is well, better than someone else, he will play in the World Cup. I don’t owe anyone a debt.”

Neymar was linked with a move to Inter Miami, and Lionel Messi was also asked about the possible reunion. He was unsure about the move and told Infobae:
“I don’t know. He went through a difficult year, where he was injured for a long time, which leaves him out of the Copa America as well, where he could not play most of the games in Arabia. And now it’s difficult. Afterwards, I don’t know, the truth is that life takes so many turns that anything can happen, but I don’t think that today, no.”
Neymar has played 206 matches with Lionel Messi during their time together at Barcelona and PSG.
