Fans never forget or forgive those who mock their clubs and favorite athletes. Those who make such comments might forget what they said or when they said it, but fans make sure they are reminded at every opportunity.
Man United Fans Target Rayan Cherki With X-Rated Chant
Manchester United eased to a 2-0 win in the derby on Friday, Jan. 17, and the fans used the moment to remind Rayan Cherki of his comments after he joined Manchester City. Supporters targeted him with chants of “You know what you are (x2). You cheating b*stards, you know what you are!” before directing the same chant at all City players.
None of the City players were spared from the X-rated chants coming from the area above the tunnel leading to the dressing rooms. In an Instagram reel that has since gone viral, Cherki was seen smirking at the fans as he walked off the pitch.

Cherki joined City in the summer and was viewed as a potential long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne. While he has yet to come close to matching the Belgian’s influence, he has shown flashes of what he could become in City colors.
Following his move, the Frenchman sat down for an interview with media in the United States while the Cityzens were competing in the FIFA Club World Cup. During that interview, he made a bold comment about Manchester United, saying he wanted to ‘k*ll them’ when he faced the Red Devils.
The 21-year-old was referencing Lyon’s 5-4 UEFA Europa League loss at Old Trafford last season, when Ruben Amorim’s side scored three goals in extra time to secure a 7-6 aggregate victory. Lyon were eliminated in the quarterfinals, and Cherki said after joining Manchester City:
“I didn’t like it when Manchester United won the game against Lyon because I am a Lyonnais. Now I am waiting for the game [to] kill them. I just [wanted] to go to Manchester City. When I spoke with Pep [Guardiola] and he wanted me – he was very, very clear. That the system, the club, the city is very good. I want to win and I think City wants to win it all. For me that’s better. hen you see Rodri, he won the Ballon d’Or here – it’s clear that with City it’s possible and I am here for this.”
Cherki missed City’s 3-0 win at the Etihad earlier this season after suffering a thigh injury in September.
