Liverpool is looking to bolster their squad in the summer after a subpar season so far. They have already started planning for the window and have set sights on a Premier League star, but face tough competition.
Liverpool Interested in $83 Million-Rated Star
Arne Slot’s side has not met the standards they set last season, and one key reason has been the left side of their attack. The sale of Luis Diaz left them short with just Cody Gakpo as the senior option, with teenager Rio Ngumoha as the other option for the position.
According to a report in TEAMtalk, the Reds are keen on Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers. The Englishman has been identified as the perfect signing for Slot’s side, as they need someone who can play in the midfield and also on the left flank.
He has played most of his matches in a central role this season, but has also operated on both flanks and led the attack. His performances have seen him score 10 goals and assist seven times across all competitions.
The 23-year-old is seen as the ideal versatile option for the squad, but faces competition from Paris Saint-Germain. His impressive season with Unai Emery’s side has seen the manager’s former side also keeping tabs on his progress.
PSG sees him as a player who can do well under Luis Enrique. They see the Englishman as the player who can come in and replace Désiré Doué or Bradley Barcola, who have been linked with a move to Anfield this summer.
However, Aston Villa remains calm about his situation, as he has penned a new deal with the club earlier this season, keeping him at Villa Park until 2031. The $83 million-rated star on transfermarkt is also linked with Manchester United and Arsenal, while Chelsea has also tried to sign him in the past.

Arsenal is also in the market for a left-sided player who can drift into the central roles when needed. Eberechi Eze was signed for similar reasons, but has not impressed so far at the Emirates.
Manchester United sees the Englishman as the player who can compete with Matheus Cunha for the role, while also slotting on the right side for Bryan Mbeumo. They also need an attacking player in the central role, amid rumors that Bruno Fernandes could be leaving at the end of the season for the Saudi Pro League.
