Liverpool have been in the news headlines since Tottenham Hotspur reportedly expressed a serious interest in signing Andrew Robertson. And, the Reds are reportedly keen to snap up one United States men’s national team (USMNT) star as Robertson’s replacement.
So, what is the identity of the mystery USMNT ace Liverpool have been impressed with?
Did Liverpool Reignite Interest in USMNT Left-Back?
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are prepared to bring Konstantinos Tsimikas back from his season-long loan at Serie A side AS Roma if Robertson joins Tottenham Hotspur this month. However, they have also earmarked USMNT and Fulham star Antonee Robinson as a perfect replacement for the 31-year-old Scottish left-back, whose deal will expire this June.
The Reds, who signed left-back Milos Kerkez for close to $54 million from Bournemouth last July, are internally discussing potentially signing Robinson. They were keen to rope in the Fulham defender prior to finalising a permanent move for Kerkez last summer.
Robinson, who has a deal until June 2028Â at Fulham, is said to be interested in joining Arne Slot’s outfit in the future. He could decide to push for a move this month if the Reds end up losing Robertson to Spurs, who are reportedly in talks with the Anfield outfit now.
Meanwhile, Liverpool is also exploring the possibility of including Tsimikas in a deal to sign Robinson from Fulham. They could also lose attacking midfielder Harvey Elliott to Fulham in the summer as the Cottagers have recently asked about the 22-year-old’s situation.
Robinson, who turned 28 last August, has endured an injury-stricken season at Fulham this campaign. He has contributed an assist in 14 overall matches for his side this season after providing 10 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions in the 2024-25 term.

On the other hand, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk is unwilling to see Robertson depart the Reds in the winter transfer window. “He’s my vice-captain. He is a very important member of our team and I want him to stay but whatever happens, let’s see,” the 34-year-old Reds centre-back said after his side’s recent 3-2 Premier League loss at Bournemouth.
Reds head coach Slot was also asked about Robertson’s future at the Merseyside outfit. He responded, “What do you think my answer is going to be? Have I ever said anything about transfers in front of these microphones? My answer is always the same and it’s quite boring to always give the same answer: we don’t talk about transfers in public.”
Since joining in 2017, Robertson has made 364 total appearances for the Reds. He has won nine trophies, including two Premier League titles, while playing for the Anfield side.
