Liam Rosenoir has been linked with a move to Chelsea following the sacking of Enzo Maresca. The Strasbourg manager has now broken his silence, adding fuel to the rumors that are already spreading like wildfire.
Liam Rosenior Leaves Door Open for Chelsea Move
Rosenior was talking to the media ahead of the Ligue 1 match between Strasbourg and Nice when he was quizzed about the Chelsea links. He had the chance to shut down rumors of a possible exit, but instead left the door wide open.
The 45-year-old manager has refused to commit his future to the French club, stating that there are no guarantees in life. He is unsure how long he will remain at the club and said:
“In life, there is zero guarantee. We don’t know what will be done tomorrow. I do my job. I don’t want to guarantee how long I’ll be here but I enjoy it here every day.”
Chelsea parted ways with Maresca on New Year’s Day, with reports suggesting the Italian had fallen out with the club’s management. He was also in talks with Manchester City, who see him as the replacement for Pep Guardiola, and reportedly held three meetings this season.
The Blues legend John Terry commented on the sacking and said in his TikTok video:
“Enzo Maresca has just been sacked by Chelsea, and to be honest, I’m completely shocked. I didn’t see it coming. I know things of late haven’t been how he would like. You can see and hear that there’s been tension. I’ve had so many phone calls this morning after the news and everyone expects me to know what’s happening. I haven’t got a clue what’s happening, I’m not involved in the first team so I don’t know.”
“Just my opinion from afar, there’s clearly been tension between the manager and the owner and they’ve come to this decision. It’s a big shock because rewind three or four weeks ago and we were playing so well against Barcelona. It was so good and fast forward four weeks and form and performances clearly haven’t been good enough.”
Chelsea is looking for a replacement and has been linked with several managers. Rosenior is the leading candidate, while AFC Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola and FC Porto’s Francesco Farioli have also been linked. However, unlike the Stasbourg manager, the other two in the race have committed their futures to their respective clubs.
