Chelsea have rejuvenated themselves over the past six weeks, having won eight of their past 11 outings in all competitions under new head coach Liam Rosenior. However, their form could suffer a dip soon owing to injuries to three key first-team starters.
And the Blues boss has issued the latest updates on the aforementioned three players.

Ahead of the Blues’ Premier League home encounter against Burnley on Saturday, Feb. 21, Rosenior said Marc Cucurella will be unavailable with a hamstring issue this weekend.
“I can’t give a timescale with Marc. He has a hamstring injury. It’s a real shame as he’s one of the best left-backs in the world. We have Jorrel (Hato), we have Mamadou (Sarr to offer cover for him). The sooner he gets back, the better,” Rosenior commented.
Cucurella, 27, was substituted off during the half-time break in Chelsea’s recent 2-2 league draw against Leeds United at Stamford Bridge. He subsequently missed his team’s 4-0 win against Hull City in an FA Cup fourth-round encounter last Friday, Feb. 13.
Rosenior, who replaced Enzo Maresca in Chelsea’s dugout on Jan. 6, also provided updates on captain Reece James and superstar Cole Palmer ahead of the Burnley contest.
“It’s day by day. It’s how each player feels. They trained well today, they’re both fit and available for selection. Having both players available makes our team better,” the former RC Strasbourg manager revealed.
James, 26, was absent in the Blues’ last two Premier League matches but did play for over 60 minutes during the win against Hull. On the other hand, 23-year-old Palmer was left out of the FA Cup matchday squad after scoring four goals in the last two league games.

The Stamford Bridge outfit are currently fifth in the 2025-26 Premier League standings with 44 points from 26 matches. With a tough run of fixtures on the horizon, they will be hoping to notch all three points against Burnley, who are 19th in the table right now.
On the other hand, one of Palmer’s friends has fuelled transfer speculations about the Blues playmaker, who has recently been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.
“One day, I will get CP (Cole Palmer) to United… back home where he belongs. Go ask him who his favorite team is,” Tunde Olayinka wrote in one of his Instagram stories.
So far this season, Palmer has scored nine goals and provided three assists in 18 outings in all competitions for Chelsea, who signed the star from Manchester City in 2023.
