Inter Miami is set to begin its preseason, but the team already been dealt a blow. The Herons will be without a key player due to factors beyond their control.
Inter Miami Star Set To Miss Preseason Kickoff Due to Visa Issues
The MLS champions have been active in the transfer window, signing players aggressively. They have already signed six players and brought in one defender on loan, but not all of them will be available at the start of their preseason tour, including the opening match against Alianza Lima in Peru.
The team has suffered a setback, as Tadeo Allende has yet to join training sessions. He has not arrived in the country, with visa issues delaying his move to the MLS side.
The Eastern Conference club has already announced his signing after agreeing to a deal with Celta Vigo, but the Argentine will have to wait a bit longer before rejoining his teammates. Journalist Jose Armando posted on social media this week and said:
“Tadeo Allende has not yet joined Inter Miami’s training sessions. The striker is currently out of the country while waiting for his visa paperwork to be complete. It is likely that he will miss the first pre-season match against Alianza Lima in Peru.”
The delay comes as a surprise for those at Inter Miami, as the Argentine was on loan at the club last season. He impressed during his spell, which prompted the club to turn the loan deal into a permanent move this month.

Co-owner Jorge Mas expressed excitement about the move, telling reporters last week that an agreement was already in place. He announced the transfer before the paperwork was finalized and praised the 26-year-old.
“Tadeo Allende will be part of Inter Miami in 2026. This has been worked on extensively and there is an agreement with Celta Vigo… We expect him to arrive in the coming days. Tadeo was a key piece for us. He holds the record for goals in the MLS playoffs. What he did for us last year was extraordinary.”
Allende has played 54 matches for the Lionel Messi-led side and scored 24 goals. Nine of those came in the MLS playoffs, including a hat trick in the semifinal against New York City FC and one in the final against the Vancouver Whitecaps, helping Inter Miami win the MLS Cup for the first time in club history.
