‘Global Embarrassment’ — Fans React to Al-Nassr Transfer Decision After Derby Loss Against Al-Hilal

Al-Nassr had a day to forget on the pitch after their loss to Al-Hilal, but their transfer decision after the game left the fans even more embarrassed.

Al-Nassr started the season with 10 wins in a row, and it seemed like Cristiano Ronaldo’s dream of winning major silverware with the Saudi Pro League club was turning into reality. But the last two weeks have seen things turn for the worse at the club, and the form is nothing more than the stuff of nightmares.

Cristiano Ronaldo Fans Mock Al-Nassr After Transfer Decision

Ronaldo’s side has slipped up tremendously in the league with no wins in their last four games. They were four points behind leaders Al-Hilal when the two sides met on Monday, Jan. 12, and their loss has now extended the gap to seven points.

While the loss was embarrassing enough, the club also had a day to forget off the pitch. With goalkeeper Nawaf Alaqidi getting sent off in the game against Al-Hilal, the Saudi side has canceled their loan agreement with Genoa for Bento.

The Brazilian goalkeeper was set to fly to Italy to complete his loan move, but will now be spending the rest of the season with Cristiano Ronaldo’s side. The fans were stunned at the club’s decision, with several taking to social media to mock the club’s hierarchy.

One fan quoted Fabrizio Romano’s announcement and said, “The club keeps outdoing itself”

“Global embarrassment,” added another, who was puzzled at the club’s decision to block the move.

One fan was in disbelief at the club pulling the plug on the loan move and added, “They are not serious.”

The news also saw some fans joke at Cristiano Ronaldo’s expense, saying the Portuguese superstar was not having the best time. One posted: “Ronaldo keeps taking L after L, in match and even in transfer windows.”

Some fans were pointing fingers at Alaqidi, with one posting: “Not only Nawaf singehandedly lost two games in a row and killed all hope for league win, he’s actions now change plan of two clubs and player with his family. Thats some satanic s**t.”

One fan believes that the club has no idea what they are doing and added, “The club doesn’t know what they want lol.”

Clubs trying to block loan moves after agreeing a deal is not new. Chelsea tried to do something similar in the summer after Nicolas Jackson was on his way to Bayern Munich.

The Senegal star was on the flight to Germany when Liam Delap got injured during their 2-0 win over Fulham. The Blues decided to pull the plug on the loan transfer because they wanted their striker back. His entourage learned of the news sometime later when they landed in Munich.

However, the Bundesliga side negotiated a new deal with Chelsea and signed Jackson on loan, after he refused to return to Stamford Bridge and his agents got him his dream move to Bayern Munich.
