Los Angeles FC (LAFC) attacker Denis Bouanga has established himself as one of Major League Soccer’s (MLS) best performers of late. And, after he was reportedly hindered from completing a move to Inter Miami, he has shared an obscure social media post.
Former Inter Miami Target Turns Heads With Repost
Earlier this month, Inter Miami reportedly submitted a $13 million bid for Bouanga, but LAFC quickly rejected it. The Herons have since shifted their sights to Monterrey striker German Berterame and are believed to be close to finalising a $15 million deal.
Meanwhile, Bouanga has fueled speculation after reposting a fan’s post on X. He shared on X a post that read, “You’re inches from your dream, and the club shuts it down.”
Although Bouanga’s intentions are unclear, the recent repost could indicate he is disappointed to have missed a chance to feature for Inter Miami. The 31-year-old could also have combined with Lionel Messi, with whom he was in a race for the MLS Golden Boot award last year.
The 53-cap Gabon international, who played for French side Saint-Étienne before joining LAFC, scored 24 times in 31 MLS games for his club in 2025. Messi, on the other hand, won the 2025 MLS Golden Boot after netting 29 goals in 28 MLS matches for the Herons.
Bouanga, who has guided LAFC to three trophies since arriving in August 2022, has bagged an impressive 101 goals and laid out 42 assists in 152 overall outings for his club.
On the other hand, Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas has expressed his excitement about his club’s upcoming season, claiming the Herons have a better team now than last year.

“For 2026, I believe this will be an extraordinary roster, coming off a championship season. In this league, it is extremely difficult to repeat especially when you’ve utilized every roster tool available to build a team like we did in 2025. However, I believe we will have a squad capable of competing at an even higher level than what we saw last year,” Mas said.
Opining more Inter Miami’s goals, Mas commented, “Our objective is to win the CONCACAF Champions Cup (in 2026)… it is something I have told the club. All of our goals are focused on those seven matches to win the title this year. That is why we are building this roster, and I believe we have improved significantly in key positions.”
So far this month, the Messi-led side has snapped up midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, left-back Sergio Reguilon, winger Tadeo Allende, and goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair, to name a few.
