Cristiano Ronaldo continues to impress at Al-Nassr, and the monthlong break has not slowed his momentum. The Portuguese superstar returned to league action with a brace as the club looks to win its first title since the 2018-19 season.
Cristiano Ronaldo Sends Message After Strong Performance
Jorge Jesus’ side has been in stunning form this season, but domestic competitions were paused for a month. With the Arab Cup being played in early December, the Saudi Pro League leaders had time off, and many feared it would disrupt Ronaldo’s side.
They returned to action on Saturday night, with the club captain leading the way. Ronaldo scored a brace against Al Akhdoud, taking his tally to 12 goals in 10 league matches this season.
Joao Felix also continued his superb start to the campaign, adding another goal. He joined from Chelsea in the summer, and the Blues will be pleased with his form, as performance-based bonuses could generate additional revenue from the $59 million deal.
The focus was once again on Ronaldo after he failed to score in the AFC Champions League Two earlier this week, but he delivered in the 3-0 win. The 40-year-old took to Instagram and posted a message to his fans that read: “Hard work is the way to success!”

The former Real Madrid forward appeared to have completed his hat trick just after the hour mark, but Sultan Al Ghanam was ruled offside in the buildup before the cross, and the goal was disallowed.
The more important tally on Ronaldo’s mind is his pursuit of 1,000 career goals. He now has 956 and is just 44 away from the milestone, with at least 18 months remaining on his contract, which runs through 2027.
Piers Morgan was also in a celebratory mood after Al-Nassr’s win, as his friend Ronaldo scored twice. Sharing a message for the Portuguese forward on X, he wrote:
“He never stops scoring. Anywhere in the world, for any team. People can debate who the football 🐐 is, but there’s no debate over the game’s greatest, and most relentless goal-scorer. It’s @Cristiano.”
Ronaldo and Al-Nassr have one more match before the end of 2025. They face Al-Ettifaq on Tuesday, Dec. 30, and Jesus’ side will look to extend its run of 10 league wins since the start of the season, which is already a record.
