Bernardo Silva has warned his Manchester City team-mates they cannot allow their season to come to nothing over the next few weeks. Pep Guardiola’s side has five crucial fixtures across four competitions before the international break. The run begins on Saturday with an FA Cup clash against Newcastle United, as they look to bounce back from Wednesday’s draw with Nottingham Forest.
Bernardo Silva Sounds Alarm to Manchester City Teammates
City’s draw left Arsenal seven points clear in the Premier League title race. Their only league match before April 12 is away at West Ham United. The schedule also includes two Champions League knockout ties against Real Madrid, which sandwich the trip to East London. In addition, City will face Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final on March 22.
Silva highlighted the importance of the upcoming games. “In these few weeks we’re not going to win a lot, but we can lose a lot,” he said.

“This month can keep us alive to fight for the competitions until the end, or it can put us down and we just go for one or two competitions.” Silva admitted the draw has made the PL title race more difficult, but he insisted the squad must focus on the challenges ahead rather than dwell on missed opportunities.
“It definitely puts us in a worse position,” he added. “Still nine games to go for us, which is a long way. We’re not happy, obviously. We wanted to be closer to put a bit more pressure on them. But we’re still in four competitions, so there’s no point in looking back now and crying. We need to go for the next game. Hopefully, we continue fighting for all the titles, which is our main goal.”
For Guardiola, the draw against Forest represents another frustrating chapter in a season where City have repeatedly lost control of matches. The stalemate increased the Cityzens’ total points, dropping them from winning positions to 13 this season.

Speaking after the result, Guardiola said, “Maybe it’s a lot, but there are games where we don’t deserve it. Today, we played generally well for 90 minutes. We created a lot against a team that is really defensive, a really good time. We were dynamic. We missed maybe more contact with Erling (Haaland), his incredible movements. We have to look for him a bit more, but in general it was well played.”
With crucial matches scheduled in every competition over the next several weeks, this period could determine whether City remain contenders on all fronts.
