Barcelona Transfer Rumors: Hansi Flick Desperate for Club To Seal Permanent Deal for $35 Million Star

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has told his club to secure a permanent deal for an on-loan star, according to a renowned journalist.

Barcelona are relishing a fine 2025-26 season, sitting at the top of the La Liga table with 46 points from 18 games. And, Blaugrana manager Hansi Flick is reportedly hoping to secure a permanent deal for a player who has been vital to his side’s good run of form.

Hansi Flick Prioritizes Signing of On-Loan Barcelona Star

According to reputed reporter Matteo Moretto, Barcelona are in the process of retaining on-loan star Marcus Rashford beyond the ongoing 2025-26 campaign. They are working on the deal as per instructions from Flick, who has been impressed with the attacker’s displays.

Should Barcelona decide to turn Rashford’s loan permanent next summer, they would have to pay Manchester United $35 million as a transfer fee, as mentioned in a purchase clause.

Earlier this week, Rashford revealed that he is keen to remain at the La Liga champions.

“What I want is to stay at Barça. It’s the ultimate goal, but it’s not the reason I’m training hard and giving my all. The purpose is to win. Barça is a huge, fantastic club, built to win titles. I’m settling in really well at the club and in the city. From the moment I arrived, I felt very welcomed. For me, the reason I’m here is to help the team win trophies,” the Manchester United loanee told SPORT (via GOAL).

Rashford, who turned 28 earlier in October, has proved to be a great addition for Barcelona so far. Since leaving Manchester United on a season-long loan deal, he has recorded seven goals and 11 assists in 24 overall appearances, including 16 starts, for the Blaugrana.

The Manchester United academy graduate fell out of favor at his boyhood team last season. He was loaned out to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign. He scored a total of four goals in 24 overall outings for Unai Emery’s side earlier in 2025.
