USMNT Legend Alexi Lalas Makes Christian Pulisic World Cup Prediction After Latter’s Poor Start to 2026

A USMNT legend makes bold claim about Christian Pulisic after injuries caused the AC Milan star to miss a few recent matches.

Christian Pulisic is touted as the best player in the United States squad, and the nation has a lot riding on his performance this summer. Some fans and pundits are concerned about his form and fitness this season, and Alexi Lalas has now given his opinion on the AC Milan star.

Alexi Lalas Backs Christian Pulisic as Serie A’s Best Amid Injury Concerns

Pulisic has been dealing with injury issues this season and has missed a handful of games for AC Milan. His latest injury was bursitis earlier this month, but he recovered during the short break to make the matchday squad against Pisa.
Pulisic was sidelined for 17 days but returned off the bench in AC Milan’s 2–1 win on Friday, Feb. 13. Shortly after, Alexi Lalas addressed the former Chelsea winger on his “State of the Union” podcast, making it clear he has no concerns about Pulisic’s form.
The USMNT legend went even further, arguing that Pulisic remains the best player in Serie A — regardless of whether he’s scoring or in the starting XI. Lalas also dismissed any worry about the American star’s trajectory ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
“You could call him the best player in Serie A right now, but not scoring, not starting, not clinging games on a consistent basis, and I can see and justify it in my mind, why people would be concerned, but I just remain unconcerned with Christian Pulisic in that,” said Lalas.

Explaining his confidence in the USMNT star, Lalas claimed that Pulisic always turns up for the national team and will be charged up this summer as he is playing at the FIFA World Cup at home.

“I think he’ll be there this summer, and I think that he is going to be the star that we need him to be, and he has brought up for the national team over the years,” added Lalas. “You know, what times we’ve been critical about different things that he’s done. He’s brought it for the national team, and I think he will do it again this year, and I don’t think the troubles that he’s going through right now are problematic.”

Pulisic has scored 8 goals for AC Milan this season and has been one of their best players. He will be hoping to get back to his red-hot form in the remaining weeks before the summer tournament.
