A Look at Snoop Dogg’s Age and Career
Born on Oct. 20, 1971, Snoop Dogg is 54 and has been performing professionally for approximately 34 years. His career officially began in the early 1990s, and since then, Snoop has evolved from a breakout rap star into a global cultural icon.
Snoop’s entered the scene back in 1991, when he began recording and gaining attention in the Los Angeles hip-hop scene.
His breakthrough came in 1992 after he was discovered by Dr. Dre and featured prominently on the single “Deep Cover” and Dr. Dre’s landmark album “The Chronic.” Those appearances introduced Snoop’s laid-back delivery and distinctive voice to the world, which made him a recognizable figure in rap.
In November 1993, Snoop released his debut solo album, “Doggystyle,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and became a defining release of the era. Over the decades that followed, he continued to release music at a steady pace, experimenting with different styles and collaborating across genres.
