Skyler Bell’s NFL Draft Potential

Skyler Bell is one of the most compelling mid-round WR prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft. A product of Watertown, Connecticut, he began his career as a three-star recruit signing at Wisconsin in 2021. Though he caught just one pass in 2021, Bell had high expectations in 2022 as a potential catalyst for the Badgers’ passing offense — and he delivered to a degree.

As a redshirt freshman, Bell caught 30 passes for 444 yards and five touchdowns, accounting for almost 25% of his team’s scoring production through the air. He also logged 13 carries for 160 yards, proving his mettle as a schemed-touches weapon and RAC asset. Bell came back looking to take another step in 2023, but his production stagnated with Tanner Mordecai at the helm, and he ended up transferring to UConn — both to move close to home, and to capitalize on an opportunity to start and produce right away.

Bell’s move to UConn has been an incredibly productive one. He caught 50 passes for 860 yards and five TDs in 2024, and through just nine games thus far in 2025, he’s racked up 74 receptions for 994 yards and 11 TDs, surpassing his career highs and becoming one of the nation’s most prolific producers.

At 6’0″ and a lean 185 pounds, Bell has around average size and is a good functional athlete, with enough burst and speed to stack from multiple alignments — but his short-area quickness, twitch, foot speed, and angle freedom serve as his most central athletic traits. Bell has dynamic RAC ability on schemed targets with his effervescent agility and burst through seams, and he’s also shown he can control his quickness with sharp precision and intent as a route runner.

While Bell can still prove himself a bit more against press coverage, he’s shown he can use his twitch, foot speed, and angle freedom to offset and capitalize at stems, and he can use smooth throttle control and tempo manipulations to work defenders off balance before scraping past with targeted physicality. He struggled with drops in 2024, but even there, he’s improved in 2025. He’ll be a 24-year-old rookie, but Bell can compensate for that by serving as a high-floor, immediate contributor with inside-outside versatility and usage flexibility.

CFB Week 11 Update

Bell was instrumental in UConn’s Power conference upset over Duke this past weekend, catching 11 receptions for 87 yards and two scores. Working against fellow 2026 NFL Draft prospect Chandler Rivers, Bell won off press, off motions, and with cushion to work, using his quickness and targeted physicality to decouple, and his explosiveness to find space.

His quick separation ability and RAC value were highlights, but Bell’s best moment came in the red zone when, on a pylon fade, he executed a perfect late-hands catch, proactively working back to the ball while beating tight coverage.

Bell is an incredibly well-rounded player who did a little bit of everything against Duke. When an offense runs through a player the way UConn’s runs through Bell, it’s a great sign for his NFL viability.

CFB Week 12 Update

Bell caught eight passes for 70 yards in an efficient outing against the Air Force Falcons in Week 12. Bell wasn’t tested as much in this game, nor was he pressured as much to produce in a double-digit win, but he remains a reliable force week in and week out for the Huskies — an impact that should be expected to continue at the NFL level.

Where Is Bell Being Selected Most Often in the PFSN Mock Draft Simulator?

Bell currently holds the No. 112 overall rank among prospects, reflecting his standing among mid-round prospects. His most recent Average Draft Position (ADP) of 73.1 as of November 19 reflects that he is typically being selected on Day 2 or early Day 3.

Interestingly, his ADP is higher than his rank, suggesting that users are targeting him more aggressively than his positional ranking might indicate.

Users controlling the Atlanta Falcons have been the team that selected Bell the most frequently over the past week, accounting for 1.2% of their picks across all seven rounds.
