Week 9 of the NFL season continues to be turbulent. The Dallas Cowboys both saw and heard a quiet AT&T Stadium as the fourth quarter of Monday Night Football drew to a close with the Arizona Cardinals emerging as the winner.
Dallas’ defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus also found himself as one of the night’s leading storylines after allowing 340 yards of offense from Arizona, who were with a backup quarterback — Jacoby Brissett.

Matt Eberflus Called ‘Fraud’ by Sports Personality
With a final 27-17 score, the Cardinals’ Jacoby Brissett complimented his defense for the road win — in particular pointing out that they capitalized on the three turnovers.
Sports personality Skip Bayless posted on his X that Eberflus could be out of a job if he keeps this up. Bayless hosts the sports opinion and debate shows “Undisputed” and “The Skip Bayless Show” with Fox Sports. He was also with ESPN for several years.
“How does Matt Eber-fraud still have a job?” Bayless asked.

The Cardinals defense concluded play over the Cowboys with one interception, two forced fumbles and five sacks.
Brissett threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. had a career-high seven receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown.
“It was just a complete win. You know, it was a dog fight coming in here. At halftime, we’ve been in that situation so much that we weren’t happy. We were more so like, make sure we’re prepared for the second half,” Brissett said postgame to the broadcast. “Just so happy for this game, proud of his team. Obviously, a big win on the road and we needed it bad.”
Dallas’s time of possession was further damaging to the game, with the Cowboys having the ball for 26:40 compared to Arizona’s 33:20. Cardinals’ Calais Campbell and Josh Sweat each posted two sacks a piece.
Sam, a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, said the Cardinals were simply the better team.
“The defense was not doing good,” Sam told PFSN. “The Cowboys suck. Arizona was clearly the better team by far. Their starting quarterback was injured and they still looked good tonight. At this point, I’m rooting for them to lose so they can improve their draft picks.”
Cowboys Owner, President and GM Jerry Jones said postgame to the media that he was “very disappointed” in the Cowboys’ latest showing. The Cardinals have now snapped their five-game losing streak.
This marks the first time this season Dallas has suffered back-to-back losses. The Cowboys fall to 3-5-1.
