In the last game of this year’s Thanksgiving matchups, the Cincinnati Bengals will travel to face the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC North battle. This will mark Bengals QB Joe Burrow’s first game since getting injured back in Week 2. This could be a game that sparks Cincinnati’s late comeback for the divisional title.
There is excitement due to the game’s stakes and the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, but before any ball is thrown, the pre-game will be an excellent start to the event.
How Did Renée Elise Goldsberry Get to This Point?
For this game, award-winning Broadway Star Renée Elise Goldsberry will perform her rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Considering her numerous accomplishments, Goldsberry is best known for her role in the highly acclaimed Broadway musical “Hamilton.” Her performance as Angelica Schuyler was exceptional, earning Goldsberry a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical.

Besides Goldsberry’s accomplishments in “Hamilton”, she has performed in many other plays and appeared in TV shows such as “The Good Wife”, “Girls5eva”, “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”, and more.
Interestingly enough, this is not the first time Goldsberry has performed at an NFL game, and the last time she did so was for the game of the year.
In 2017, with her fellow “Hamilton” castmates, Phillipa Soo and Jasmine Cephas Jones, she performed “America the Beautiful” before Super Bowl 51, which featured the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots.

During this performance, Goldsberry and here other cast mates drew some controversy and praise due to changing the lyrics of “America the Beautiful” a bit.
When the lyric “And crown thy good with brotherhood” was sung, the words “and sisterhood” were added at the end. Cheers rang out in the stadium when this happened, and Falcons HC Dan Quinn had a surprised smile on his face.
It has been a while since that moment, and Goldsberry has completed many projects since then, but her return to the NFL World will be one to watch. Near kickoff (8:20 PM EST), it will be around 35 degrees farrenhiet in Baltimore, so it will be a cold one for Goldsberry to perform in. Still, with all her accolades and talent, an exciting performance is to be expected.
