Brian Robinson Fantasy Outlook This Week

Brian Robinson was the lead dog in the Commanders’ backfield last year, which continued in Week 1 this season. I don’t see Robinson going off against a stout Broncos run defense in Week 2, but rather see a path to steady 15-20 carries for 60-90 yards and a 50% chance at a touchdown. That is usable in most fantasy leagues.

Antonio Gibson Fantasy Outlook This Week

I bought into the Gibson hype as a rookie and then again his sophomore season. I also bought into the narrative this season that he would take over the JD McKissic role from last season.

In each case, I was wrong.

Gibson had one catch in Week 1, and he fumbled. He has a long, storied history of fumbling problems. There’s no quicker way to lose playing time on a Ron Rivera team than to be untrustworthy with the football.

I don’t see Gibson increasing his role from Week 1. In fact, I predict he loses playing time and finishes with a few carries for minimal yards and a catch or two. Honestly, I think Gibson rides the bench for the Commanders, and he should do the same for your fantasy team.

Which of the Commanders Running Backs Should You Start?

Like my colleague Tim Martens said in Week 1, Robinson should be the Commanders’ running back to start in Week 2.

Honestly, Gibson should be on your waiver wire. Robinson likely won’t be spectacular, but he’ll be steady. If Gibson somehow figures out how to be the passing-down back, it won’t be this week. Robinson is the man in Washington until something drastically changes.
