Peyton Manning Wants Travis Kelce To Hear Him Out on Retirement Issue

Manning ended his career at its high point after winning Super Bowl 50, something Kelce cannot do after losing Super Bowl 59 to the Philadelphia Eagles. The 10-time Pro Bowler then hinted at his impending retirement.

During his red carpet interview for “SNL50: The Anniversary Special,” Manning aired his views on Kelce pondering to walk away from the game. “I hope he takes some time, and he doesn’t make a rushed decision,” Manning said to E! News.

“So, the last thing you want to do is say, ‘OK, I’m going to make a decision now.’ Take some time. Take a full month. Let some things digest and calm down. He can make a better decision then.” However, Manning did not just advise the 35-year-old but shared what he wanted Kelce to do. “I hope he comes back and plays. He’s fun to watch, but he’s got to do what’s best for him.”

Kelce’s 2024 season wasn’t his best. The tight end registered 97 receptions for 823 yards and three touchdowns. Despite this, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is adamant that he wants Kelce back.

“I know he still has love for the game,” Mahomes said after the Super Bowl loss. He highlighted the fact that Kelce is not only limited to his work on the field but brings a veteran leadership aspect to the locker room as well.

“And he’ll get to spend some time with his family and make that decision on his own, but he knows he’ll come back here with welcome arms. We love that guy not only for the football player but the person that he is every single day.”
