A short stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be more than enough for Shilo Sanders to find himself in the NFC East. Deion Sanders has ties to five NFL teams he played on throughout his career, and with the Buccaneers still undecided on the fate of Sanders’ son, the Colorado graduate could sign with one of his father’s former teams.
Shilo Sanders Predicted to Sign With Dallas Cowboys if Released By Tampa Bay
The Buccaneers have their work cut out for them defensively this year. A pair of key injuries is not making things any easier on their quest to win another NFC South title. Their division may be one of the weaker ones in football, but each team still needs to shine on both sides to come out on top.
Baker Mayfield and the offense have no doubts around them. Even though wide receiver injuries remain an issue, Mayfield and the rest of the crew are expected to get the job done.
Should the undrafted free agent be waived by the team after their preseason finale, Shilo may end up in Dallas.
PFSN’s Scott DiBenedetto wrote, “The Dallas defense needs a major bounce back after taking a huge step backwards last season, but Shilo might not be able to fix things on his own.”

“Shilo would have his work cut out for him to make the game day roster, but don’t put it past Jerry Jones to reach for some nostalgia by adding Shilo,” he added.
Jones was just under fire by Skip Bayless, who is irate about the Micah Parsons contract situation. He firmly believes that Parsons is overhyped and nowhere near the rumored $200M guarantee Jones threw his way months ago. Since requesting to be traded, the Cowboys’ defense has been a huge question mark heading into the 2025 season.
Shilo’s signing with the Cowboys certainly wouldn’t change things overnight. The legendary Hall of Famer’s son has three solo tackles in his two preseason games. He’ll have one more chance to make an impact, this time at Raymond James Stadium against the always dangerous Buffalo Bills.
Currently listed as FS4 in Tampa Bay, Shilo knows a strong performance could be enough to keep him on the team. If the Buccaneers look elsewhere, DiBenedetto sees value in the Cowboys adding him to their roster.
Some would simply see it as a nostalgia move, and while Shilo is nowhere near the talent of Parsons, Dallas has a defense that needs to be rebuilt step by step.
