Shedeur Sanders remains one of the most polarizing draft prospects in recent NFL history. Whether it is his on-the-field talent or off-the-field demeanor, fans and media alike have debated at length about his viability as an NFL starting quarterback.
However, a common theme in recent months has been criticism of Sanders’s attitude.

Shedeur Sanders’ Trainer Reveals Why Attitude Makes Sanders Special
There is a certain brand of confidence that the Colorado star has that is expected of a successful college quarterback. While it has certainly rubbed some people the wrong way, Sanders’ trainer feels it’s exactly what a quarterback needs to succeed in NFL.
Sanders has been alleged to be “cocky,” “brash,” and unprofessional during the team meetings at the NFL Scouting Combine, hurting his draft stock at times. However, the quarterback’s personal trainer, Darrell Colbert Jr., believes it’s what makes him special and can help him succeed in any type of system.
“I think, for a quarterback, you want a guy like that. You want a guy who’s sure. You want a guy who’s confident in himself. You want a guy who’s never second-guessing himself. That’s who Shedeur is. He understands the system. I feel like he’s a guy who can fit in any system that a team is running.
“I think, just the type of guy he is, and that confidence can offend some people, you know, it’s who he is and that’s what makes him special,” he said on the latest episode of “The Rich Eisen Show.”
Sanders is also confident of his talent and warns that any team passing on him would be a fool.
“All I need is an opportunity. Simple. Whatever franchise wanna change their franchise, then it’s no doubt who to go with. You’ll be a fool not to pick me.”
In PFSN’s latest mock draft, Sanders is projected to be picked second overall by the Cleveland Browns.
“Deshaun Watson was a blatant and ugly mistake by the Browns. Having the second-overall pick allows for them to reset at QB with a very cheap contract and the opportunity to build a firmer foundation. While Cleveland hasn’t historically been successful, it doesn’t know the next time it’ll be picking this early with a shot at getting a high-floor starter like Sanders.”
Sanders was an integral part of Colorado’s team success, and he’ll be a main factor in the success of whichever franchise drafts him in a few weeks.
Sanders is going to be in the limelight for multiple reasons, including his draft position, family name, and the confidence that he has in himself. He’s going to be subject to unjustified scrutiny, but his confidence equips him to overcome the hate that he receives.
