There have been a few surprises at the 2025 NFL Draft so far. For instance, the Jacksonville Jaguars traded up to No. 2 overall for Travis Hunter. However, Hunter’s Colorado teammate, Shedeur Sanders, shockingly remains on the board.
Many believed Sanders would be a high draft pick. Some reports indicated teams were targeting him in a potential trade-up. However, he remains on the board well over halfway through the NFL Draft, and his brother has sent a message to the teams that have passed on him.
Shedeur Sanders’ Brother Warns NFL Teams Amid NFL Draft Freefall
Deion Sanders Jr., a former college football player and Shedeur’s brother, took to social media to send this message. He kept his words short and to the point. In any event, NFL teams likely got the point loud and clear.
“The REJECTED WILL BE RESPECTED,” Deion Jr. said on social media.

There are a few teams that could have selected a quarterback early in the draft. However, they all passed on the Colorado star. Teams like the Cleveland Browns addressed the defensive side of the ball. Meanwhile, clubs like the New Orleans Saints elected to bolster other parts of the offense.
“Perhaps the most polarizing prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft class, Shedeur Sanders comes in as our QB2. There’s no disputing Sanders’ production or his pedigree. The debate comes within his projection. Just how good can Sanders be at the NFL level?” PFSN’s Ian Cummings wrote in a scouting report of the Colorado signal-caller.
“Sanders makes his money with accuracy, confidence, and composure, and his arm is more than good enough. But he’s not a high-level athlete or creator and his arm isn’t quite elite. Sanders also has a tendency to drift in the pocket, and play light on his feet, which can be harmful at times.”
“My pro comparison for Sanders is Brock Purdy — the 2022 seventh-rounder who grew into a Pro Bowl passer with the San Francisco 49ers. Sanders is undersized and unequipped with elite talent, but with his accuracy and gamer mentality, he can win in a system that offers support.”
Sanders certainly has a bright future in the NFL. How high his ceiling goes is definitely a debatable topic. No matter what, the Colorado star is receiving a major source of motivation at this time. Whoever drafts him will be getting a player with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove early in his career.
