Shavon Revel’s NFL Draft Scouting Report
Shavon Revel Jr. has a combination of height, length, and speed that you just can’t teach at the cornerback position. His physical tools alone would get him on the radar of NFL teams, but he maximizes well with a high football IQ.
Revel can read and mirror route concepts well, and he’s able to process and act on break angles in zone. His ball-tracking skills and long arms amount to exemplary playmaking chops, just as his length, along with his physicality, enables him to dictate in press-man coverage.
Revel wasn’t always tested to the highest degree by his competition in college, and he’s also coming off a torn ACL. Those two factors muddy his projection somewhat. That said, Revel is reported to be on track for a full recovery, and assuming he is, he’s one of the highest-ceiling CB prospects in the class.

Shavon Revel’s Latest NFL Draft Projection
PFSN’s Ian Cummings projected that Revel would be picked 24th overall by the Minnesota Vikings in his latest seven-round mock draft.
Cummings said, “As long as Shavon Revel Jr. is on track to a full recovery from his torn ACL, he’s a top-25 talent in the 2025 NFL Draft. And for a team like Minnesota, with Brian Flores’ aggressive man-heavy scheme, Revel has the elite physical traits to be a fear-inducing CB1.
“Next to Byron Murphy Jr. and Isaiah Rodgers, Revel can complete the puzzle as the Minnesota Vikings’ albatross on the boundary. His blend of length, lean mass, tenacity, and blistering closing speed gives off Charvarius Ward vibes, but he’s even quicker and more agile in short areas.”

Where Does Shavon Revel Rank Among 2025’s CB Prospects?
Here are the top 10 CB rankings for the 2025 NFL Draft, according to PFSN Draft Analyst Ian Cummings:
10. Maxwell Hairston, Kentucky
9. Denzel Burke, Ohio State
8. Darien Porter, Iowa State
7. Benjamin Morrison, Notre Dame
6. Azareye’h Thomas, Florida State
5. Shavon Revel, East Carolina
4. Trey Amos, Ole Miss
3. Jahdae Barron, Texas
2. Will Johnson, Michigan
1. Travis Hunter, Colorado
At times, it feels as though Shavon Revel has fallen under the radar as other CB prospects rise. Revel hasn’t seen the field since a torn ACL sidelined him after three games in 2024, but he remains a viable first-round prospect and one of the class’ highest-ceiling CBs.
While Revel wasn’t able to test, he boasts a documented 4.4 40-yard dash and an 11′ broad jump from ECU’s camp last spring, and at 6’2″, 196 pounds, with near-33″ arms, his combination of length, explosiveness, speed, and agility amounts to unmatched potential.
Revel’s tape isn’t quite as clean as Quinyon Mitchell’s — a small-school prospect who went Round 1 last cycle. Revel needs to cut down on lapses in blind spot awareness and extraneous physicality. But he’s disciplined in man, sharp in zone, and a dynamic disruptor.
