How Many Picks Do the Seahawks Have in the 2025 NFL Draft?
The Seahawks currently have 10 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. In a surprise move, the team traded their two-time Pro Bowl QB Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders for a third-round pick. They then moved star WR DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers for an additional second round pick.
The Seahawks’ fifth-round pick was part of a midseason trade for New York Giants defensive tackle Leonard Williams. Seattle gave up a 2024 second-round pick and its 2025 fifth-round pick in exchange for the veteran defensive lineman.
Seattle also dealt their fourth-round pick and linebacker Jerome Baker to the Tennessee Titans for linebacker Ernest Jones IV in another midseason trade.
Historically, under the oversight of general manager John Schneider, the Seahawks have been proficient at accumulating extra capital during a given cycle — either through trades or the compensatory process.
Since Schneider became the Seahawks’ general manager in 2010, Seattle has only had one draft class with fewer than eight selections — the 2021 class, when the Seahawks made only three picks.
What Are the Seahawks’ Biggest Needs in 2025?
The Seattle Seahawks were not far away last season, and with a few upgrades, they could be playoff contenders in 2025. Their defense dominated their metrics, ranking sixth, while the offense was 20th, thanks in large part to a 30th-ranked offensive line.
Therefore, the biggest need has to be addressing the offensive line. Both Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas are free agents next season, so they need some kind of contingency plan there. Lucas could be replaced as a starter this offseason, and Cross’ role is far from secure. He was better in 2024 but had been decidedly average until then. Adding a talented player to compete with them this season will give Seattle options.

There is then also a need at guard, with Laken Tomlinson set to be a free agent this offseason. They will need to replace him and upgrade the center of a line that struggled significantly last season.
There is also the quarterback situation to address. The Seahawks are making the right noise about signing Geno Smith to an extension, but talk and action are two very different things. Smith has repeatedly proven himself to be a league-average starter, and the Seahawks will not want to overpay for that. If they cannot reach a middle point, then they may want to add a quarterback to compete with Sam Howell to be their future quarterback.
Defensively, there is not a lot of turnover on the roster, as Mike Macdonald should have the luxury of returning most of his key players. Ernest Jones and Jarran Reed are the main free agents in terms of starters. There is a lot of talent on the roster at defensive tackle, but the linebacker depth chart looks thin if Jones leaves.
