There are a lot of question marks going into the Seahawks and Packers contest this Sunday. Aaron Rodgers’ status as he comes back after testing positive for COVID-19 last week is among the most notable. Jordan Love struggled against the Chiefs in his first NFL start, and Rodgers gives Green Bay the best chance to win.
For the Seahawks, Russell Wilson is cleared to play in Week 10. He’s been sidelined since suffering a right middle finger injury against the Los Angeles Rams in October. During that span, including the Rams game, Wilson’s backup Geno Smith has only mustered a 1-3 record.
Last week’s bye was needed to not only give Wilson more time to recover but to buy time for running back Chris Carson. Carson was cleared to practice on Wednesday, but he will be evaluated daily. Expect Seattle to take precautions as Carson continues to work back from a neck injury.
Seahawks vs. Packers prediction
After Seattle’s rough month of October and Green Bay’s Week 9 loss to Kansas City, both teams will be itching for a win. At 3-5, the Seahawks are all but eliminated from NFC West contention, but a loss would create a further uphill battle for one of the three Wild Card spots.
We can expect the betting line to change once we receive more clarity on Rodgers’ status. For now, however, Wilson gives the Seahawks a better shot to win on Sunday than Love gives the Packers.
Seahawks vs. Packers Prediction: Seahawks 24, Packers 20
