Sauce Gardner Drops Verdict on Future With Jets After Disappointing Campaign With AFC East Franchise

Sauce Gardner isn’t the type to sugarcoat things. The New York Jets’ season was a legit mess. And his future with the team is where things get interesting. After a rough campaign that saw the Jets stumble through the AFC East, Gardner made it clear where he stands.

The star cornerback isn’t just thinking about bouncing back, he’s ensuring everyone knows what’s coming next.

Sauce Gardner Locks In, Confirms Long-Term Commitment to the Jets

Gardner isn’t going anywhere. The Jets’ star CB made that clear on social media, doubling down on his long-term commitment to the team.

When a post suggested he and Garrett Wilson should be part of the team’s future plans, Gardner’s response was simple, “I’m wit it 💚.”

That’s not just talk. Gardner’s been vocal about wanting to be “part of the solution” after the Jets’ rough 2024 season. He even met with new head coach Aaron Glenn face-to-face, saying he’s “super excited” about the direction of the team. Clearly, he’s all in.

This isn’t the first time Gardner’s pledged loyalty to the Jets.

Back in May 2024, he stated outright that he wanted to stay with the Jets “for the rest of” his NFL career. And why wouldn’t he? Since being drafted No. 4 overall in 2022, he’s become a franchise cornerstone.

His rookie year was spectacular — Defensive Rookie of the Year, Pro Bowler, and First-Team All-Pro with a league-best 20 passes defended.

Opponents avoid throwing his way, but Gardner still finds ways to dominate. Last season, he racked up 57 tackles, 11 passes defended, and a forced fumble. The Jets have him under contract through 2025 (with a fifth-year option for 2026), but locking him in long-term should be a no-brainer.

If he keeps playing at this level, we’re looking at a future Hall of Famer. And if the Jets get things right, maybe he’ll be leading them to a long-awaited championship.

Sauce Gardner Shuts Down Wild Trade Speculation with a Laugh

NFL offseason means one thing: wild trade rumors. But Gardner isn’t taking the bait.
He had a good laugh when a fan suggested on social media that the Jets should trade him for veteran QB Kirk Cousins. Gardner reposted the claim with “the rumors” and a laughing emoji, making it clear how ridiculous he found the idea.

There’s zero truth to any Gardner-Cousins swap. The Jets aren’t letting go of their two-time First-Team All-Pro, especially after back-to-back elite seasons. He remains a key piece of the team’s defense and is eligible for a contract extension soon.

Despite the noise, Gardner’s doubled down on his commitment to the Jets. He even co-signed a post saying he and wide receiver Garrett Wilson should be with the Jets’ long-term plans.

Offseason chatter won’t stop, but Gardner isn’t sweating it. He’s laughing it off, while Jets fans can breathe easy knowing their defensive star isn’t going anywhere.
