With the 2025 NFL season on the horizon, Saquon Barkley is moving huge weight in the gym, undoubtedly with his eyes set on another Super Bowl victory.
The Philadelphia Eagles took to X to show a video of the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year squatting what looks to be six plates per side — or 585 pounds, with attached resistance bands adding to the weight — during an insane leg workout. Naturally, Eagles fans got a bit excited and started predicting a record-breaking season for him.
Saquon Barkley Delivers Viral Moment After Insane Workout Video
Philadelphia Eagles fans were understandably fired up at the sight of Barkley squatting the equivalent weight of your average grizzly bear, with one claiming he’s in store for a 3,000-yard rushing season. It also brought to mind an insane video of quarterback Jalen Hurts squatting 600 pounds while in college at Alabama.
Back to Barkley: another exhilarated Eagles fan posted a photo of the running back backwards hurdling a defender, writing: “you can’t get to this without that!”

As impressive a feat of strength as the squats may be, Barkley’s gym videos are starting to feel like something of a tradition that exist to give his team’s social media admin a much-needed offseason task.
After all, similar posts have gone up every summer since Barkley was in college at Penn State. In 2017, a video showed him squatting 525 pounds for five reps.
If Eagles fans are impressed by Barkley’s recent hype videos, they’d better get used to seeing more of them all over the locker room. Philadelphia has a roster jam-packed with weight-room beasts, from Barkley and Jalen Hurts to 2024 first-round pick Quinyon Mitchell and new addition A.J. Dillon. ESPN posted an incredible stat saying the combined max squatting potential of the team’s revamped running backs room is 1,375 pounds.
That immense lower body strength from their skill players, along with their dominant offensive line, is a big part of what makes the Eagles’ signature “Tush Push” work. It’s almost unstoppable to defend in short-yard situations, especially at the goal line and on fourth down. The play has incited a controversy, with some rivals seeking to ban it.
Hype video aside, Eagles fans should be excited to see Barkley healthy and putting in offseason work as he looks to lead the team to another Super Bowl championship.
