After making a couple of starts last season, what does Sam Ehlinger's future look like, and what is his value in dynasty fantasy football leagues going forward?

Sam Ehlinger Dynasty Profile: Fantasy Outlook, Value, Projections, and Rankings

As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the dynasty rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of quarterback Sam Ehlinger.

Sam Ehlinger’s Dynasty Outlook and Value

I really don’t know who the Indianapolis Colts’ starting quarterback will be in Week 1 of the 2023 season, but I do know that it won’t be Ehlinger. The 2021 sixth-rounder should never have even gotten onto an NFL field. But injuries and poor QB play forced the Colts’ hand.

In their defense, it was worth a shot, as what they were doing clearly wasn’t working. Unfortunately, the Ehlinger experiment failed spectacularly.

Ehlinger made two starts following Matt Ryan’s benching. He didn’t throw or run for a single touchdown, and Indianapolis lost both games. Head coach Frank Reich was fired, and interim head coach Jeff Saturday reinstated Ryan as the starter.

I respect the Colts for seeing what they had in Ehlinger. The answer is they don’t have anything at all. Ehlinger did make another start in Week 18 after Nick Foles was injured the week prior. He didn’t fare any better, throwing two touchdowns and two interceptions in a loss to the Houston Texans.

Sam Ehlinger’s Fantasy Ranking

In 1QB leagues, Ehlinger was never a sought-after asset. In Superflex leagues, every starting QB must be rostered. So I’m sure Ehlinger was picked up once Ryan was benched. Yet, anyone who still has Ehlinger lingering on rosters from his late-season start can safely release him. He’s never going to be an NFL starting quarterback.

We have Ehlinger at QB50 (No. 458 overall) in our dynasty Superflex rankings. I would place his odds at ever starting another game at as close to 0% as you can get. Ehlinger shouldn’t even be on your board in dynasty startup drafts.
