‘You’re a Phony Bro’ – Ryan Clark Fires Back at RGIII, Calls Him ‘One of the Worst Teammates’ He’s Had in NFL or TV

Ryan Clark and Robert Griffin III are locked in a very personal battle over a play from a WNBA game. Read about the latest punch thrown.

A social media beef between two former NFL players is getting ugly. Ryan Clark and Robert Griffin III have become locked in a disagreement that’s become personal, over, of all things, the WNBA.

Griffin reacted to an interaction between rivals Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, and Ryan did not appreciate it. The former quarterback responded to the former defensive back, and now the former DB has fired back at the former QB.

Robert Griffin III Says Ryan Clark ‘Personally Attacked’ His Family

The two played together in 2014 with Washington. Griffin was supposed to be Washington’s savior after being drafted No. 2 overall in the 2012 NFL Draft. He was phenomenal as a rookie, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year and leading Washington to the playoffs.

However, multiple knee injuries that season and other injuries suffered in the following two years led the team to release Griffin after the 2015 season.

Meanwhile, 2014 was Ryan’s last year in the NFL, one in which Washington finished with a 4-12 record. The two overlapped again as broadcasters at ESPN and worked together as part of the network’s NFL coverage.

The current argument stems from a hard foul Clark recently committed on Reese. The play received plenty of nasty reactions from fans, with Reese reportedly receiving “hateful fan comments.”

The WNBA launched an investigation into the incident, while the Indiana Fever star has denounced the comments.

Clark and Reese’s rivalry has elevated a standard hard foul into something much broader. Griffin recently suggested that Reese hates the Fever guard, and Ryan took that comment in an interesting direction, discussing Griffin’s wife and family.

Both have posted lengthy responses to each other, with Ryan landing the latest punch on X. He responded to a video of Griffin calling Ryan’s comments about the ex-QB’s wife and family “over the line.”

Ryan’s lengthy message was, “Bruh you know what it is with me and you! I saved you the entire season on MNF. I urged people to let you be you. No matter how corny, how bad a teammate you were I had your back.

“What did you do? Invite someone on your show you know I don’t fool with to ask questions about me, and then hit me weeks later to tell me you’re gonna challenge one of my takes!

“You’re a phony bro. One of the worst teammates I ever had both on the field and in TV. You gotta do what you gotta do. I didn’t attack your wife. I spoke on what you do on social media and TV. Like I said. I met your wife and she seemed like a lovely lady that was worth more than the color of her skin! You be good bruh.”

The former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back’s comments have created plenty of heat and calls for ESPN to fire Clark.

Labeling Griffin, “one of the worst teammates he’s ever had,” signifies that there’s more to this argument than meets the eye. A dicey discussion about a hard foul has turned into a very public personal battle.
