‘It Was a Ruse’ — Super Bowl Champion Shares Wild Conspiracy Theory That Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift’s MSG Wedding Was Fake

Was it real or all just a ruse? One Super Bowl winner says that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's wedding at Madison Square Garden was all for show.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been dating music icon Taylor Swift since the summer of 2023. After nearly three years of dating, they felt it was time to tie the knot.

The Kelce-Swift wedding could have happened a million different ways. They’re two people with connections in high places and money to burn. As a result, the power couple decided to stage the wedding at Madison Square Garden behind closed doors.

Now, some are saying the whole wedding was just for show. As in, it wasn’t real.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Wedding — Real or Ruse?

The Kelce-Swift wedding took place on July 3. Unless, it never took place at all?

Recently, former Super Bowl-winning quarterback David Carr went public on his “Home Grown with David & Derek Carr” podcast with a unique angle on the wedding. Carr says the whole thing was fake.

“I heard that it wasn’t at MSG. That they brought everyone in and took an underground train to Connecticut. I think it was a ruse. Smoke and mirrors. Magic. Powder… They’re in the Hamptons getting married. We’ll see the pictures, when they come out, they’re gonna be on the beach, in the Hamptons.”

Ok ok, magic, sure. So what really happened here?

Carr believes that MSG, while it’s great for basketball and concerts, just isn’t a viable wedding venue, at least not for someone of Swift’s class level.

“Think about it. MSG? That’s a great arena for a basketball game. I went to a Metallica concert there. Fantastic. But we’re gonna have a wedding there? People throwing up on the ground. There’s beer everywhere. I mean, Taylor Swift’s not gonna get married there.”

Well, by all appearances, Swift did get married there. Plus, it’s not like the arena was set up the same way it would be for a New York Knicks game or a Metallica concert.

Swift surely hired a team of decorators who managed to cater the venue to their needs, and the arena was likely paid a very handsome lump sum in exchange for their hospitality.

Or, as Carr said, maybe it all took place in the Hamptons. Or in Connecticut, with secret underground trains serving as Ubers, while guests were practicing magic and playing with pixie dust or something to that effect.
