Richard Sherman Goes Viral After Calling Out “Ungrateful” Seahawks Fans on Social Media

Richard Sherman, the most prominent member of the Legion of Boom, was upset with some Seattle fans, calling them ungrateful. Here's what led to the outburst.

Former cornerback Richard Sherman played seven of his 11 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. During his time in Seattle, the team made the NFL playoffs five times, including two Super Bowl appearances. The Seahawks defeated the Denver Broncos to win Super Bowl 48, the franchise’s only championship.

Sherman, who is now an analyst on Amazon Prime, played three seasons with Seattle’s NFC West rival, the San Francisco 49ers, after leaving the Seahawks. He played his final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.

Richard Sherman’s Dispute With Fans

With his accomplishments and the Seahawks’ success, it was surprising to see that Sherman was arguing with Seattle fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Tuesday night.

A user posted: “Richard Sherman might be the biggest traitor in Seahawks history atp [at this point,] and it’s not particularly close.”

Another person posted, “I never wanted to go against Sherman because he’s meant so much to the franchise and deserves to be in the Ring of Honor. But now…he has been giving me reasons to go against him.”

This is when Sherman responded to both posts from people who identify as Seahawks fans in their X bio. He posted, “Couldn’t care less if I go in that ring of honor.”

The second poster replied to Sherman, “Whatever, then. You didn’t even have to reply.” Sherman provided his reason for replying: “No I did. Tired of ppl like you. I want you to see it.”

Several people showed their appreciation for Sherman before he provided more insight.

Seattle selected Sherman with the 154th pick in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He was named first-team All-Pro three times and was voted to the Pro Bowl four times in seven years with the Seahawks. Sherman, Earl Thomas, and Kam Chancellor were the lead members of the Legion of Boom, the nickname of the Seattle secondary.

Seattle Seahawks Ring of Honor
