Injury Updates for Top Fantasy Football RBs

    Javonte Williams, RB, Denver Broncos

Javonte Williams left the game on Sunday with a hip injury and was quickly ruled out. In a positive turn of events after the game, it was reported that Williams might miss little, if any, time. He will have an MRI on Monday, and if he misses time, Samaje Perrine and rookie Jaleel McLaughlin will need to step up.

McLaughlin had a great outing, rushing for 72 yards on seven carries.

    Rico Dowdle, RB, Dallas Cowboys

Backup RB Rico Dowdle left the game on Sunday with a hip injury after carrying the ball for nine yards. It was the same hip that caused Dowdle to miss the 2021 season, and an MRI on Monday confirmed a hip contusion. The Cowboys play the Niners next week, and Dowdle’s status is uncertain.

Austin Ekeler, RB, Los Angeles Chargers

Austin Ekeler teased fantasy managers with the chance of him suiting up on Sunday, but he could not deliver. The Chargers have a bye in Week 5, which should be just enough time for Ekeler to get his ankle right. We should see him return to the field in Week 6.

Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants

On Saturday, Saquon Barkley confirmed he did have a high ankle sprain, even with the limited practices he logged on Thursday and Friday. Barkley will not play in tonight’s game against the Seahawks, and you should expect to see more Matt Breida again.

Kyren Williams, RB, Los Angeles Rams

Rams RB Kyren Williams had an incredible game on Sunday, scoring twice on 127 yards on the ground.

Today, head coach Sean McVay told the media that Williams suffered a bruised hip in the win over Indy. It is unclear how this will affect his week at practice.

    Salvon Ahmed, RB, Miami Dolphins

After dealing with a groin issue for the last couple of weeks, Salvon Ahmed made it back on the field for Miami on Sunday.

Ahmed had zero carries, but it was good to see him available for the Dolphins.
