When Baltimore Ravens fans think of the team’s all-time greats, some players that pop into mind are Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, and even Lamar Jackson, according to current fans. However, none will ever match the style and skill of linebacker Ray Lewis.
Along with being one of the greatest, if not the most outstanding, linebackers to ever play, he’s definitely one of the most energetic players ever to set foot on the field. There’s always a comparison to be made between players, no matter what sport they play. Lewis has a strong connection with NBA Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett.
Ray Lewis on His Bond With NBA Great Kevin Garnett
An interviewer praised Lewis and Garnett for being two of the most energetic players on the field or court in their respective sports. Wondering if the two athletes have ever talked together about how crazy they both are, Lewis had this to say:
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, we have. Me and KG go way back, like way back. We was in the league early oh my gosh. We met and we both agreed that we were kind of insane. But, I think we both appreciate what that insane was. Because it’s not insane like that! It’s insane to do something great, to be great, to see better, to do better, to lead better!”
Lewis is holding Garnett in high praise. The kind of intensity that both players share is now much less common.
The 🔥 intensity of Ray Lewis and Kevin Garnett is unmatched!@raylewis tells me that he & @KevinGarnett5KG connected over their shared drive:

It isn’t a type of craziness that is unhinged and out of line, but rather one that is based on being the greatest you can be. Garnett and Lewis are cut from the same cloth.
Career Comparison Between Two Greats
Garnett played for three teams during his 21-year career, primarily with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Boston Celtics, and the Brooklyn Nets. The Hall of Famer is a 15-time All-Star, 12-time All-Defensive, nine-time All-NBA, one-time Defensive Player of the Year, one-time NBA MVP, and one-time NBA Champion.
In 1462 games, he averaged 17.8 points, 10 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.4 blocks.

As for Lewis, he played for just the Ravens throughout his 17-year career. The Hall of Famer is a 12-time Pro Bowler, seven-time All-Pro, two-time Defensive Player of the Year, two-time Super Bowl Champion, and a one-time Super Bowl MVP.
He made 2059 tackles in his career, as well as 41.5 sacks, 99 tackles for loss, 31 interceptions, 96 passes defended, 19 forced fumbles, and 20 fumble recoveries.
The two are both insane, and based on their résumés, it’s a good thing.
