After missing the playoffs for the first time since 2021, the Baltimore Ravens are entering an offseason that must lead to a successful 2026 season. A new era is starting in Baltimore, and after firing John Harbaugh, the search is on for a new HC.
Baltimore has work to do this offseason, and not just with the staff. There can still be upgrades throughout the Ravens’ roster, and one area where that is clear is at WR, which has been the case for years.
Former Super Bowl Champion Believes the Ravens Should Trade for a Disgruntled WR
QB Lamar Jackson is a clear star in the NFL, but even with his excellent performances, the Ravens have fallen short. With Harbaugh’s firing, the franchise is placing the blame on the coach, but hiring a new coach won’t fix that. Adding more talent in the WR room is needed, and one of the missing pieces could be found in the trade market.
Former LSU and Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark suggested that as soon as they get an HC, the Ravens should call the Eagles about their star WR A.J. Brown, “For A.J. Brown, you can go anywhere and be a great fit due to how talented you are. But if I’m the Baltimore Ravens, I’m on the phone as soon as we get a coach.”

Given the possibility of this blockbuster trade, it may actually be a likely outcome. Yesterday, in the Eagles’ end-of-season press conference, GM Howie Roseman was asked about Brown’s future with the team. Roseman’s response failed to close the door on a potential trade, and with the Ravens in the AFC (the Eagles are in the NFC), Baltimore may be an ideal trade partner for Philadelphia.
Later in the video, Clark also talked about how well Brown fits on the Ravens, “You pair him with Zay Flowers, who’s a route runner, who’s your quick, who you could move around, and you finally give Lamar Jackson a win one-on-one guy that will be inspired.”
As Clark said, Brown is the type of WR that the Ravens offense has been missing, and depending on the new HC and/or OC hire, that side of the ball for Baltimore could be top of the league if this trade is made.
The only holdup with this deal is money. In 2024, Brown signed a $96 million contract extension with Philadelphia. If he does get traded, the Eagles would be hit by a massive cap hit.
