Entering this season, the Baltimore Ravens were considered to be one of the Super Bowl favorites. The Ravens have been knocking on the door with close playoff losses in the past couple of years, so many tipped them to get over the hump this season. However, a 1-3 start to the season and an injury to starting quarterback Lamar Jackson have dampened those expectations, and one former NFL player suggests the Ravens make a major decision.
Acho Advises Ravens To Give Up on the Core Roster
Speaking on his show “Speakeasy,” Emmanuel Acho, the former linebacker-turned-analyst, wrote off the Ravens’ entire season. He stated, “How in the world can you win anything this time around? The Ravens are done. The Super Bowl is done. This year is done. It’s done.”
He then suggested the Ravens take drastic action by trading away core pieces of their team. “If I’m the Ravens, you have got to consider blowing it up.” He named a few players he would keep, such as Jackson and safety Kyle Hamilton. “Keep Lamar, obviously. Keep Kyle Hamilton, obviously. Those young players on rookie deals, obviously. (Defensive tackle Nnamdi) Madubuike, if he’s healthy, obviously.”

Acho then implied that he would be open to trading the rest of the team.
He was not done. Acho then went after head coach John Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Todd Monken, calling for them to be fired. “Harbaugh, I feel like he’s reached his ceiling. Todd Monken, I feel like he hit his head on the ceiling.”
Harbaugh is the second-longest tenured active head coach, having coached the Ravens for 17 seasons. He guided the franchise to its second Super Bowl victory in 2013. Monken has been on Harbaugh’s staff since 2023.
Jackson Injures Hamstring in Loss
To make matters worse, the Ravens may be without their starting quarterback. Jackson left the game with an injured hamstring midway through the third quarter during their Sunday loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He sat on the bench and watched as backup quarterback Cooper Rush failed to mount a comeback against last year’s AFC Champions. Jackson was seen flexing his injured right leg while on the sideline.
During the post-game press conference, Harbaugh said he did not know when Jackson would be ready to return. “I don’t have any updates on the seriousness of injuries right now,” he said.
Jackson will not have much time to recover. The Ravens will host the 1-3 Houston Texans this Sunday.
