The Baltimore Ravens head into the 2025 season with an all-too-familiar goal: finally getting over the hump and winning a Super Bowl with Lamar Jackson. The team’s 2024 campaign ended in heartbreaking fashion, with the usually reliable Mark Andrews dropping an easy two-point conversion attempt against the Buffalo Bills.
Always among the NFL’s best-run franchises, the Ravens surprised nobody by making several significant moves in free agency and the draft. Those offseason moves have led to the Ravens earning the league’s highest offseason grade from PFSN’s Brandon Austin.
Ravens Secure Offensive Anchor, Bolster Defensive Talent
Baltimore entered the offseason aiming to enhance their roster, but first needed to avoid significant setbacks. Pro Bowl tackle Ronnie Stanley could have departed in free agency, but the Ravens quickly opened their checkbook to secure Jackson’s blindside protector on a long-term extension.
After locking down their top priority, Baltimore addressed a previously thin wide receiver group by signing veteran DeAndre Hopkins. On defense, the Ravens added cornerback Chidobe Awuzie, prying him away from their AFC North rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals.
Awuzie, a former second-round pick with experience at cornerback, is expected to improve the Ravens’ secondary. His knowledge of the AFC North could prove valuable.
The Ravens then found exceptional value in the draft, selecting Georgia safety Malaki Starks late in Round 1 and stopping the surprising slide of edge rusher Mike Green in Round 2. Green, considered a first-round talent by many analysts, represents a draft-day steal for Baltimore.
Mike Green is a DREAM pick for the Ravens.
– 2nd best edge, 10th best player on PFF’s draft big board
– Ranked 2nd in all of CFB with 22.5 TFLs last season. And 17 sacks.
– 90.4 PFF grade in 2023, 92.4 in 2024

PFSN Analyst Ian Cummings’ pre-draft scouting report of Green noted, “Mike Green’s dismissal from Virginia must be properly vetted, but if he passes the character check for NFL teams, he has the talent to be a top-15 player in the 2025 NFL Draft. Green is the most prolific pass-rush producer in the class, coming off a 2024 campaign that featured 17 sacks and 23 TFLs.
“At 6’3″, 251 pounds, with 32″ arms, Green’s length and mass are visibly non-elite, but Green nonetheless terrorizes tackles with his explosiveness, bend, agility, and thorough execution.
“His three-cone time near the 99th percentile is evidence of his athleticism and fluidity, and he also has surprising play strength as an edge-setter in run support. Best utilized as a wide-alignment rusher in odd and hybrid-front schemes, Green has impact starter potential.
Baltimore Receives League-Best A Grade for Offseason Moves
Baltimore’s offseason activity impressed Austin, who awarded them the highest grade among NFL teams. Austin praised how the Ravens’ new additions complemented their established stars, giving the team an “A” for their efforts:
“Arguably, the most important move they made was re-signing left tackle Ronnie Stanley. Baltimore’s offensive line ranked second in PFSN’s OL+ metric last season, so getting the two-time Pro Bowler back anchors the unit for the upcoming season. They did lose versatile lineman Patrick Mekari, but drafting Emery Jones Jr., a similarly versatile prospect, should ease any concerns.
“General manager Eric DeCosta delivered another strong NFL Draft class. Former Georgia star safety Malaki Starks was a tremendous value late in Round 1. Pairing him with All-Pro Kyle Hamilton creates a formidable young safety duo, especially critical after Ar’Darius Washington’s torn Achilles.
“Mike Green adds explosiveness to Baltimore’s pass rush, joining Odafe Oweh and Kyle Van Noy, both of whom recorded double-digit sacks in 2024.”
Who Are the Key Players to Watch on the Ravens in 2025?
The Ravens have assembled a strong roster for the 2025 season, and several players will be key to their Super Bowl aspirations.
Lamar Jackson (QB)
Jackson remains the focal point of Baltimore’s offense. The 2019 NFL MVP continues to produce elite numbers but needs a deep playoff run to cement his legacy. With a reinforced offensive line and upgraded receiver group, the stage is set for him to succeed.
Ronnie Stanley (LT)
Stanley’s re-signing stabilizes the Ravens’ offensive front. The veteran tackle will once again protect Jackson’s blindside, making his health and consistency essential for Baltimore’s offensive success.
DeAndre Hopkins (WR)
The veteran receiver provides much-needed experience and reliability at the position. Hopkins’ arrival should alleviate pressure on TE Mark Andrews and open the field for younger targets, giving Jackson more options in crucial situations.
Malaki Starks (S)
Starks enters his rookie season expected to immediately bolster the secondary. His pairing with Kyle Hamilton gives Baltimore one of the NFL’s most talented young safety duos, enhancing their pass defense significantly.
Mike Green (EDGE)
Green arrives with first-round talent and high expectations. His ability to pressure opposing quarterbacks consistently could be a difference-maker, especially in a division known for elite quarterback play.
