The Baltimore Ravens’ 2025 season didn’t go as planned, and many changes are taking place this offseason, but Friday may have provided a sense of stability for Baltimore.
While the Ravens have a new coaching staff and free agency is around the corner, the health of one of their best defensive players is a top priority to monitor.
Defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike suffered a season-ending injury in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns, and the future of his football career was up in the air.
Nnamdi Madubuike’s Cryptic Post Raises Hope
Since Madubuike’s injury early in the season, there hadn’t been many updates regarding his health or football future.
Former coach John Harbaugh gave a brief update on his status after the Browns game when the injury occurred, but that was all.
“A lot of that is things he needs to address with you guys in his time,” Harbaugh said on Madubuike’s football future. “I really can’t speak for him, wouldn’t want to. Those are questions that would be best answered by him going forward.”
The injury was to his neck, which is always scary.
However, on Friday, Madubuike posted a two-word message on social media that could give Ravens fans and the football world some relief about his condition.
“Good news,” Madubuike wrote on X.

Baltimore drafted Madubuike in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M. He collected 8.5 sacks, 97 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 16 quarterback hits and five passes defended in his first three years in the league.
Madubuike had played in 55 straight games from 2022 to 2025 before his neck injury.
The Ravens star broke out in 2023 with 13 sacks, 56 tackles, 12 for loss, and 33 quarterback hits, earning his first Pro Bowl nod.
That earned Madubuike a big extension in 2024, signing a four-year, $98 million contract that included a $25 million signing bonus and $75.5 million in guaranteed money.
Baltimore’s defensive star took a step back in 2024, but still played all 17 games, collecting 6.5 sacks, 43 tackles, 11 for loss, and 17 quarterback hits.
Last season, Madubuike already had 2 sacks, 7 tackles, 2 for loss, and 3 quarterback hits through two games.
There’s no further information at this point on where the Ravens’ star is in his recovery, what his timeline is, or if he does, indeed, plan to continue his football career.
However, his “Good news” post on Friday is a good sign for everything involved, that he, at least, is on the road to recovery.
There’s still another six months until training camp begins and eight months until the 2026 season gets underway.
